Ben Moxon - Software Developer

This site is set up as a brief selection of the work I have done over the last few years. I am now working freelance- if you have some work that you feel my skills (including but not limited to C#, SQL Server, ASP.Net, Java, MySql, PHP, JavaScript/Dhtml and Flash ActionScripting) would be appropriate for, then Contact me.

The Autumn Ideal Home Show ( Daily Mail Group )
I was responsible for the content management system powering all the Ideal Home Show family of sites. It includes standard content pages, searcheable exhibitor lists, daily theatre timetables, an interactive FAQ and sitewide search.
Think Energy ( British Gas )
On this site I developed the main content management system, the survey and quiz system and many of the JavaScript Activities. The site was built using ASP.Net and SQL Server. It is entirely W3C compliant and designed for accessibility.
Talk About Alcohol ( The Amsterdam Group )
This site uses a similar content management and quiz system to Think Energy but it is far more extensive. The site also uses a url-rewriting http module to create user-friendly urls and the site is run in three languages including Czech and Spanish.
Worried Need To Talk ( NSPCC )
The Quiz section of this site was built using ASP.Net loading the data from text files to facilitate the translation between Welsh and English and to simplify reuse.
Jam Slam, 2.5mb Flash executeable (British Heart Foundation)
This was part of the "Well Fit" magazine cover CD posted out to school children across the country. I was responsible for developing the code and thegame concept. I also wrote the music, although I acknowledge this is not necessarily something to be proud of.
House Builder Game, 32.5mb Windows Installer ( British Gas )
This was part of the British Gas "Buzz" magazine Cover CD, a part of the Think Energy project. I was responsible for the majority of the data structures as well as the 3D viewer and the http upload facility which posted saved files to an ASP page. My belief is that the site to which the application uploaded the data no longer exists.

There is a flash tutorial for the game here.
Java3D Tutorial
This tutorial, covering the basics of creating a Java3D scene and adding models and animation to it is well regarded within the Java3D community.
